On 10th September, Maria Seabright attended the prestigious CITB Pride of Construction Awards held in London’s Billinsgate and hosted by TV presenter, actor and comedian, Alexander Armstrong.
Maria was one of just 3 finalists for the CITB ‘Personality of the Year’ award which recognises an outstanding individual who uses their standing and personality to raise the profile of the construction industry. An individual who has made the greatest impression in the world of construction and a significant contribution to raising the profile of skills and training.
Maria was shortlisted to just 3 outstanding finalists as her career with Greendale showed she had the following strong attributes:
• Demonstrable passion for the industry
• Uses their profile to champion construction issues
• Uses their positive influence with industry peers and government to drive change
• Inspires a generation of young people to make a career in construction
• Has the profile to unify industry groups, partnerships and other bodies around key agendas.
Maria Said: “It was an honour and a privilege to be one the three outstanding finalists to be shortlisted. To have my passion for the construction industry recognised by such a respected organisation as the CITB was an achievement in itself. I see myself as an ambassador for not only Greendale, but for the construction industry as a whole, and feel that if I can inspire young people to train for a career in construction, that can only be a good thing.
