Greendale Construction Limited’s HR/Finance Director, Maria Seabright, attended the prestigious CITB Pride of Construction Awards at London’s Billingsgate on 10th September 2014, hosted by presenter, comedian and actor, Alexander Armstrong.
Maria attended the event having been shortlisted to one of just three exceptionally strong finalists for the CITB Personality of the Year. This award recognises an outstanding individual who uses their standing and personality to raise the profile of the construction industry. Judges were looking for an individual who has made the greatest impression in the world of construction and a significant contribution to raising the profile of skills and training.
The CITB Pride of Construction Awards marked the CITB’s 50th anniversary. The Awards were aimed at highlighting the contribution made by industry leaders, businesses, training organisations, partners and apprentices in the last five decades and paid special tribute to those who have left a lasting legacy for future generations.
Maria Said: “It was an honour and a privilege to be one the three outstanding finalists to be shortlisted. To have my passion for the construction industry recognised by such a respected organisation as the CITB was an achievement in itself. I see myself as an ambassador for not only Greendale, but for the construction industry as a whole, and feel that if I can inspire young people to train for a career in construction, that can only be a good thing.
