Greendale Construction has been chosen as one of three finalists for the coveted title KPMG Company of the Year, in the 15th Annual Dorset Business Awards.

Directors Rob Hooker and Chris Kane are delighted by the news that Greendale has been shortlisted as ‘KPMG Company of the Year’. “This is a huge recognition for our company especially as it is during this difficult period for the construction industry. This award nomination is for every member of the Greendale team and what they have collectively contributed to Dorset’s economy and community through their work. We are proud of our team, their hard work, dedication and loyalty and it is without doubt because of their efforts that we have been shortlisted.”

Greendale’s reputation for delivering quality projects on time and within budget is second to none and the company has firmly established themselves as part of the fabric of the Dorset community over the past 20 years with satisfied customers the length and breadth of the county as well as projects in Hampshire and Wiltshire.

This past year the companies various projects have included working with Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole borough councils, local schools, colleges and the university, the health sector, and the public sector. The company have also constructed a bespoke private development and a variety of projects in the commercial and businesses community.

Greendale beat a tight Summer deadline to complete phase one of the Bournemouth International Centre’s upgrade for The Tregonwell Hall to ensure the hall was open for the busy conference season. On the very same day they also handed over several other projects including Woodroofe School in Lyme Regis, Corfe Hills School Learning Resource Centre in Corfe Mullen and the Oakdale Adult Education Centre in Poole – which had meant an extremely busy summer works schedule. Each and every member of the team carried out quality work with attention to detail and more importantly every client was more than satisfied. All handovers went smoothly, were on time and to budget. Around this time Greendale was also responsible for erecting a lasting tribute to RNLI volunteer crews whose lives were lost at sea, at the charity’s HQ in Poole.

Greendale has an excellent apprenticeship scheme thanks to their award winning training programme, firmly believing their staff are their greatest asset. Everyone, from senior managers to construction workers, are encouraged to gain qualifications in their different fields. The company also promote OSAT (On Site Assessment Training) for tradesmen to achieved a National Vocational Qualification. Several other members of the Greendale team have won or been shortlisted for the highly acclaimed Federation of Master Builders Apprentice of the Year Award and have gained apprentice awards from Poole College in various construction skills.
