Work at a new high spec’ house in Wiltshire is progressing well. The new basement construction, which includes a swimming pool, is well underway. The concrete pool structure is complete and preparation for the basement slab is advancing with speed.

Below are a images of how the house will look when it’s completed.

Below we have a shot showing extent of excavations to form the swimming pool and basement area.

56m3 of ready mix concrete was poured on Monday (14th Oct) forming the basement slab.

Below, is Simon Copping, Project Manager at Woodlands farm site with Greendale Construction Director, Rob Hooker.

Rob said: “The site is really taking shape with the bulk of the basement sub-structure and swimming pool construction now well advanced.”

This is a particularly exciting and challenging build, so we will keep you updated regularly!

This latest photo shows the formwork and temporary structural support taking place for the ground floor concrete slab.

Update: 19/12/13

Below we have another update as the ground floor slab is now cast. Support framework will stay in-situ in the basement/swimming pool for a few a weeks while the concrete cures. Steel frame superstructure erection has commenced.

More shots detailing the fantastic progress being made.  Contracts Director, Andy Musselwhite said: ” The main Steel Frame is now erected, basement formwork removed and drainage installed. Work is about to commence of the masonry front walls and carpentry to first floor joists.”

As you can see from the photos below, we are now progressing with the first floor and roof joisting. The front wall is being built in aerated concrete blocks with the side walls being of timber frame construction, both are now underway.

Our latest update shots show the first of the glass being craned over the house and the rear elevation with some of the glass in place.

Update 3rd Dec 2014 

The photos below show the latest updates to this fantastic project.  Andy Musselwhite, Contracts Director said: “Works are progressing at Woodlands Farm; windows and doors are being installed, external bespoke IPE cladding moving forward and the internal 1st fix is underway, including the swimming pool render in readiness for tiling. The house is partly powered by renewable energy with the the Ground Source Heat pump external piping is complete and the PV is installed on the roof.”

Update 23/01/15

More fantastic progress at Woodlands Farm.  The photos below show the rear elevation glazing starting to be installed today. Internally, first fix works are now very advanced with plastering starting soon.

As the photos show, below, works are now in the final phase with plastering at an advanced stage. Mechanical and electrical installations are progressing well including the advanced audio/visual system which extends throughout the house. Scaffolding is now removed from the rear allowing a full view of the extensive glazing for the first time.
