Greendale at the FMB Awards

It was a privilege for Greendale to be national finalists in the Heritage Project category at the Federation of Master Builder Awards, having already been crowned regional winners earlier this year for our work at Shire Hall, Dorchester.

Held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane, London, the event was hosted by DIY SOS presenter, Nick Knowles, and showcased some of the brilliant projects in the 2019 finals.

Sadly, on this occasion, Greendale didn’t win, but, it is still a major achievement to get to be a national finalist at this prestigious construction awards event and we are very proud and grateful of the recognition for our work at Shire Hall.

Simon Copping at the CIOB Construction Manager of the Year Awards

We were also very proud to attend the CIOB Construction Manager of the Year 2019 Awards where Greendale Project Manager, Simon Copping, was a finalist in the Restoration Category for his work – also at Shire Hall.

The judges were particularly impressed with Simon’s ability to cope with a super tight site on the busy Dorchester High Street, taking full advantage of the limited access opportunities by co-ordinating the re-roofing with the installation of the new lightning conductors and the restoration of stonework. Simon’s careful management of the works promoted buildability and protected the progress of the works. His ongoing value engineering also kept the project’s budget heart pumping!

Although Simon didn’t take top prize on the occasion, he was up against some top talent, and reaching the finals for Construction Manager of the Year 2019 really is an astounding achievement and honour.
