Our Small Works Division has been busy working at Christchurch Priory Church on a contract to repair, rebuild, stabilise and refurbish a number of walls around the historic Church.

The project, for BCP Council (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council) commenced at the end of July 2020. We will hand over this completed project to deadline this week. BCP is working with Columba Cook Architects and the Council’s Senior Conservation Officer to ensure all works are carried out within ancient monument guidelines. The stone and brick walls cover a wide area around the quay and Priory, with the contract including rebuilding works adjacent to the mill stream.  Our Greendale Small Works Division removed vegetation and tree growth within the walls, and dismantled cappings for a careful rebuild using like for like materials.

Extra special hanks go to Greg and Shelley for managing this enjoyable project so well  – and also to Albion and Colin who did a great job with lots of care and attention, achieving fantastic end results.

Rob Hooker, Greendale Director commented: “This has been a fantastic transformation and restoration of these wonderful walls, rightly classed as ancient monuments. We are very proud to have played a part in helping to repair and protect the walls for future generations to enjoy.”

Just take a look at these stunning handover photos of the completed walls in the glorious Autumnal sunshine.
