Project Description:
We were appointed by BU to carry out essential repairs to the front elevation of the Old Fire Station in Holdenhurst Road. This listed building is the heart of the University’s Student Union entertainment complex. The Listed Building facade was sympathetically repaired and refurbished. Repairs were carried out to the stone and brickwork façade, roof repairs and leadwork to the main roof features were also undertaken.
Specialist cleaning of the whole façade was undertaken with repairs and redecorations to the existing windows and doors also undertaken. New feature lighting was also provided to illuminate the building in the hours of darkness.
The building remained operational throughout the works with BU staff on site at all times. It was overseen by BU Estates Department and completed on time and to budget.
