Project Description:

Greendale used a combination of modern and traditional building techniques during a substantial design and build project for this popular visitor attraction. All display floors of the Grade II listed warehouse were upgraded, and a new feature area created to exhibit an Iron Age log boat.

Careful consideration on Health & Safety matters were required on this project. In particular the demolition of the existing 1970’s structure in a busy restricted urban area. External hard landscaping incorporated locally quarried Purbeck Stone slabs.

After demolishing an unsightly structure dating from the 1970s, a new, contemporary steel and glass atrium entrance with observation deck was also created to welcome visitors to the museum.
