Project Description:
Completed over 3 phases, Greendale’s work at Nightingale Primary School, Blackbird Road, Eastleigh, involved the full refurbishment and re-cladding of a live school site comprising both single-storey and two-storey sections. The works were delivered under the Hampshire County Council SCOLA Framework.
The work included removal of the existing fully glazed fenestration and addition of high performance insulation and an outer covering of brick slips and panels. The existing single glazed Crittall windows were replaced with double glazed aluminium units. The flat roof was replaced with thermal insulation and PV panels were added.
Internally, classrooms, offices, storerooms and toilets were upgraded with new services, LED lighting throughout, and Hybrid Ventilation and Heat Recovery units to all classrooms.
The first floor was clad in Accoya engineered timber, with the ground floor clad with GeBrik brick slips. All new window and doors were hybrid timber/aluminium windows and doors from Ideal Combi.
