Project Description:
This project for Hart Plain Infant School comprised the refurbishment, re-cladding and re-roofing of a single-storey teaching block, delivered through the Hampshire County Council Minor Works Framework as part of the SCOLA Reclad Programme.
External Works for Hart Plain Junior School
- The removal of the existing glazed façade system.
- Installation of high-performance thermal insulation, and application of a new rainscreen cladding system to significantly enhance the building’s appearance and energy efficiency.
- The original single-glazed Crittall windows were replaced with modern double-glazed aluminium units, improving thermal performance, occupant comfort and overall building sustainability.
- The existing flat roof was also upgraded with new thermal insulation and a high-performance mineral felt waterproofing system, providing improved weather protection and energy efficiency.
Internal Works for Hart Plain Junior School
Extensive refurbishment works were carried out to the classrooms and toilet facilities. These included the installation of new building services, upgraded fire protection measures, new suspended ceilings, floor finishes and full redecoration throughout.
Energy-efficient LED lighting was installed across the building, complemented by hybrid ventilation and heat recovery units serving all classrooms. Together, these improvements delivered a modern, comfortable and sustainable learning environment, enhancing both building performance and the wellbeing of its occupants.
