Value: £632,000
Client: Douch Family Funeral Directors
Duration: 34 weeks

Project Description:

Greendale Construction were appointed to carry out the refurbishment and adaption of the Douch Family Funeral Directors’ Lesley Shand funeral home in Corfe Mullen. The works included the removal of the existing roof and forming a new roof with office and staff accommodation, internal strip out and refurbishment, refurbishment of external façade and landscaping. The externally cladding to the extended building is in vertical sweet chestnut boarding. High quality combination windows in Aluminium and timber have been installed throughout.

The result entailed a total transformation of the existing bungalow. The new structure is a purpose built two storey offices and funeral home. As part of the works we created a large chapel, as well as private chapel areas. New M&E and air conditioning services have also been installed throughout the building.

The complete transformation has created a modern, bright and welcoming new facility.

“While the tradition and history of the business are important, we understand the need for modern, purpose-built facilities.  That is why we invest in our infrastructure and the new branch has been utterly transformed by Greendale Construction. We are grateful for the expert advice and guidance throughout the build, not just from Greendale, but our architects DMWA and Building Options Quantity Surveyors.  It was a large project for our business but has passed incredibly smoothly, and the results are exactly what we wanted.  Not only will the branch provide what is necessary for a growing funeral business but, will also be beneficial for the wider community.” – Nick Douch, Managing Director, Douch.
