Project Description:
Officially opened on 12th September 2025 by Tom Hayes MP for Bournemouth East, and attended by Greendale Director, Chris Kane, this 14 week, £518k contract saw Greendale Construction refurbish a classroom block to create a new state-of-the-art Green Energy Centre.
Works included the construction of new walls, new floor finishes, new M&E installations, new fire doors, the replacement of the roof, and decoration throughout.
Bournemouth & Poole College’s Green Energy Centre was created to tackle the skills gap, with the centre marking a major investment in the region’s skills infrastructure, designed to address workforce shortages and accelerate the UK’s transition to net zero.
The Green Energy Centre will deliver advanced training in Solar PV, EV charging, energy storage and heat pump technologies, provide industry-standard facilities that replicate real-world operation conditions, and offer programmes designed in consultation with local employers to meet specific business needs.
