Greendale Construction is currently delivering a comprehensive refurbishment and remodelling project at Blandford Fire Station on behalf of Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service.
The Blandford Fire Station refurbishment is enhancing both the operational and welfare facilities at the busy station – all delivered within a live, fully operational environment.
Blandford Fire Station External Repairs and Upgrades
The project began with a range of external improvements to protect and modernise the building fabric, including:
- Façade redecoration
- Replacement aluminium windows and doors
- Rainwater goods improvements
- Repairs to concrete aprons, hardstandings and yard areas
Internal Refurbishment and Remodelling at Blandford Fire Station
Internally, the works involve a significant strip-out and reconfiguration to modernise Blandford Fire Station’s core facilities, including:
- New male and female WC and shower facilities
- A refurbished muster bay and breathing apparatus (BA) room
- A new kitchen
- Improved office, training and welfare spaces
- New partitions, hygienic cladding, ceilings and floor finishes
- Full internal redecoration
Mechanical and Electrical Upgrades
To bring the station up to modern operational standards, Greendale is also delivering a full package of M&E works, including:
- New LED lighting, power and data installations
- Heating improvements
- Fire alarm adaptations
- Alterations to water, drainage and ventilation systems
Delivering in a Live Emergency Services Environment
Working within a live fire station brings unique challenges, and the Blandford Fire Station Refurbishment project is a strong example of Greendale Construction’s ability to deliver complex refurbishment works safely and sensitively around a frontline emergency service. Once complete, the station will be modernised and better-equipped for the crews at Blandford Fire Station who serve the local community every day.
