We were delighted to be invited to the official ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Biotrack headquarters in Wareham, Dorset which was converted from the dilapidated former law courts to a new high-tech manufacturing and administration HQ for international radio tracking and radio tag company, Biotrack Ltd.
Simon King OBE, BBC presenter, cameraman and specialist in nature documentaries was the special guest and had the honour of cutting the ribbon.
The £540k, six month project, involved the conversion of the two court rooms by means of the addition of a mezzanine floor to provide production and engineering facilities, and generous staff room and stores to compliment the two storey office accommodation, with new modernised washrooms.
Externally, the building has received modern cladding treatment with coloured weatherboarding on insulation backing at first floor level, insulated renders on the ground floor, and a complete coloured aluminium window and door replacement installation, bringing the building fabric forward to current standards. New bike storage has been added to the car park and new disabled access added to the rear entrance.
With over thirty years’ experience, Biotrack Ltd, is a leader in the manufacturing of radio tags and radio tracking for animals, having produced over 100,000 tags for over 1,000 species since 1990. The company currently has an output of 10,000 tags per year supplied to over 110 countries.
