Actor and Honorary Patron of National Pier Society, Timothy West CBE, officially opened Swanage Pier and Marine Villas at an event attended by Greendale director, Rob Hooker.
“I wasn’t lucky enough to have a good chat with Tim whilst we queued for the buffet. As well as being an Honorary Patron of the National Pier Society, and of course a well known and loved actor, Tim is a very keen historian and into boating and paddle steamers – the Waveley still docks at Swanage Pier. Many will have recently seen his programmes on canal boating with his wife, Prunella Scales.
“There was a lot of very positive talk amongst guests about the Marine Villas, which Greendale are immensely proud to have been involved with; restoring dilapidated old Grade II listed building back to its former Georgian glory, with a new exhibition space, shop, and café with a stunning glass extension.”
