Project Description:
The phased modernisation programme of the Hall & Woodhouse Brewery in Blandford involved the demolition of the existing packaging hall and bottling building, followed by the construction of a new 10,000 sq ft fully serviced double portal steel framed building which replaced these facilities.
Works included the installation of a network of stainless-steel drainage channels, new offices with toilets and the installation of fermenting vessels. All works were completed with minimum disruption to the brewery operations, beer production and distribution.
The precise installation of the 16 Stainless Steel fermenting vessels marked a milestone in the construction programme. A tandem lift crane operation, under strictly controlled procedure, ensured the vessels were fed successfully in through the maze of steelwork framing and floors on to the entablature level.
